European exchanges close higher

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed higher Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 4.14 points, or 0.9%, to finish at 462.03.

The UK's FTSE 100 increased 65 points, or 0.83%, to end the session at 7,947. Germany's DAX 30 added 89 points, or 0.58%, to 15,397.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, soaring 78 points, or 1.11%, to close at 7,208.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, rose 170 points, or 0.63%, to 27,438.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 92 points, or 1.02%, to end the day at 9,210.
