European exchanges close mixed

UK's FTSE, Germany's DAX both post losses; Italy's FTSE, Spain's IBEX show gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed mixed on Friday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.6 points, or 0.32%, to finish mostly flat at 504.80.

The UK's FTSE 100 lost 11 points, or 0.15%, to end the session at 7,731. Germany's DAX 30 fell five points, or 0.03%, to close at 17,936.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, rose nearly three points, or 0.04%, to close the day almost unchanged at 8,164.

Italy's FTSE MIB gained 153 points, or 0.46%, to 33,940.

Spain's IBEX 35, meanwhile, soared 107 points, or 1.02%, to end the week at 10,597.
