European exchanges close Thursday lower except Germany

Italy's FTSE MIB performs worst, falling 0.72%, while Germany's DAX 30 finishes day flat

ISTANBUL (AA) — European stock exchanges closed lower on Thursday, except for Germany.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.01 point, or 0.22%, to finish at 459.98.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased almost 50 points, or 0.63%, to end the session at 7,879. France's CAC 40, meanwhile, was down 8, or 0.12%, to 7,315.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, falling 201 points, or 0.72%, to close at 27,710.

Spain's IBEX 35 lost 42, or 0.45%, to end the day at 9,423.

Germany's DAX 30, on the other hand, rose only 1.34 point, or 0.01%, to finish the day flat at 15,633.
