European exchanges close Wednesday mixed

UK's FTSE 100 declines 0.73%; Italy's FTSE MIB performs best with gain of 1%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed mixed on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 0.85 point, or 0.17%, to finish nearly flat at 491.05.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased 56 points, or 0.73%, to end the session at 7,662.

Germany's DAX 30, on the other hand, rose 49 points, or 0.29%, to 17,118. France's CAC 40 added 16 points, or 0.22%, to 7,812.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, rising almost 317 points, or 1%, to close at 32,018.

Spain's IBEX 35, meanwhile, increased 69 points, or 0.69%, to end the day at 10,107.
