European markets close day in red

ISTANBUL (AA) - Major European markets closed lower on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, lost 5.99 points, or 1.36%, to end the day at 434.38.

The UK's FTSE 100 index was down 116.79, or 1.54%, to 7,476.21points.

Germany's DAX 30 also dropped 1.71%, or 247.19 points, to 14,198.80, while France's CAC 40 decreased 1.4%, or 90.17 points, to 6,358.46.

Italy's FTSE MIB lost 459.7 points, or 1.9%, to stand at 23,776.97.

Spain's IBEX 35 fell by 131.5 points, or 1.49%, to 8,711.20.
