European markets post largest weekly gain since 2020 amid Ukraine-Russia talks

ANKARA (AA) - European stock exchanges closed higher on Friday to post their biggest weekly gain since November 2020 with investors' optimism amid negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 4.11 points, or 0.91%, to close at 454.60 points.

London's FTSE 100 gained 19 points, or 0.26%, to finish at 7,404.

Germany's DAX 30 added 25 points, or 0.17%, to end the day at 14,413, while France's CAC 40 was up 7 points, or 0.12%, to 6,620.

Italy's FTSE MIB increased 98 points, or 0.41%, to close at 24,222.

Spain's IBEX 35 rose 5 points, or 0.07%, to 8,417.
