European stock exchanges close with over 1% losses each

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock markets closed Thursday with losses as exchanges plummeted more than 1% apiece.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 7.08 points, or 1.55%, to 450.45.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased 83 points, or 1.07%, to end the session at 7,747. Germany's DAX 30, meanwhile, trimmed 261 points, or 1.72%, to 14,920.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day by shedding 131 points, or 1.86%, to close at 6,951.

Italy's FTSE MIB dove 456 points, or 1.75%, to finish at 25,596.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 140 points, or 1.57%, to end the day at 8,793.
