European stock exchanges finish week with gains

Italy's FTSE MIB performs best, soaring 248 points, or 0.92%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed higher Friday to finish the week with gains.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 1.87 points, or 0.4%, to end the day at 465.49.

The UK's FTSE 100 added 24 points, or 0.31%, to finish the session at 7,754. Germany's DAX 30 also rose 78 points, or 0.5%, to 15,913.

France's CAC 40, meanwhile, posted a gain of 33 points, or 0.45%, to close at 7,414.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 248 points, or 0.92%, to 27,347.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 51 points, or 0.56%, to end the day at 9,234.
