European stock markets close Friday lower

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock markets closed lower Friday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 4.42 points, or 0.96%, to finish at 457.89.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased 28 points, or 0.36%, to end the session at 7,882.

Germany's DAX 30 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 215 points, or 1.39%, to 15,307.

France's CAC 40 lost 58 points, or 0.82%, to close at 7,129. Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, shed 235 points, or 0.86%, to 27,268.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 126 points, or 1.36%, to end the day at 9,117.
