European stock markets close Friday mostly higher

ANKARA (AA) – Major European stock markets closed mostly higher on Friday.

The UK's FTSE 100 increased 20 points, or 0.27%, to finish at 7,486.

Germany's DAX 30 added just 1.8 points, or 0.01%, to close flat at 14,541.

France's CAC 40 gained 5 points, or 0.08%, to end the session at 6,712.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day by rising 28 points, or 0.34%, to 8,416.

Italy's FTSE MIB, on the other hand, declined 12 points, or 0.05%, to end the day at 24,718.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.11 points, or 0.02%, at 440.73.
