European stock markets close higher

UK’s FTSE 100 performs best, rising 0.5%

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stocks closed higher Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 0.59 points, or 0.13%, to close at 462.38.

UK’s FTSE 100 was the best performer of the day, soaring 39 points, or 0.5%, to finish the session at 7,824.

Germany’s DAX 30 added 48 points, or 0.31%, to reach 15,703. France’s CAC 40 tacked on six points, or 0.1%, to hit 7,396 at the closing bell.

Italy’s FTSE MIB increased 103 points, or 0.38%, to 27,629.

Spain’s IBEX 35 rose 41 points, or 0.44%, to close at 9,278.
