European stock markets close higher except Spain

ANKARA (AA) - European stocks closed higher Wednesday except for the IBEX 35 in Spain.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 3.63 points, or 0.9%, to close at 407.05.

The UK’s FTSE 100 rose almost 45 points, or 0.63%, to finish the session at 7,237.

Germany’s DAX 30 added 96 points, or 0.76%, to 12,767. France’s CAC 40 tacked on 51 points, or 0.87%, to 6,031 at the closing bell.

Italy’s FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 262 points, or 1.2%, to 22,035. The index fell 1.66% in the previous session.

Spain’s IBEX 35, on the other hand, fell 0.9 points, or 0.01%, to close flat at 7,872.
