European stock markets close lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stocks closed lower Tuesday, with all indexes losing more than 1%, except the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 4.45 points, or 1.09%, to close flat at 403.42.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was closed Monday for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II but fell 44 points, or 0.61%, to close Tuesday at 7,192.

Germany’s DAX 30 was off 132 points, or 1.03%, to 12,670. France’s CAC 40 lost 82 points, or 1.35%, to 5,979.

Italy’s FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 366 points, or 1.66%, to 21,773.

Spain’s IBEX 35 decreased 120 points, or 1.5%, to 7,873 at the closing bell.
