European stock markets close lower

Italy's FTSE MIB performs worst, plummets 0.68%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock markets closed lower Tuesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 0.87 point, or 0.19%, to finish at 463.77.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased 36 points, or 0.46%, to end the session at 7,977.

Germany's DAX 30 fell 79 points, or 0.52%, to close at 15,397.

France's CAC 40, meanwhile, lost 26 points, or 0.37%, to reach 7,308.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 187 points, or 0.68%, to 27,409.

Spain's IBEX 35 also decreased 29 points, or 0.31%, to end the day at 9,252.
