European stock markets close lower, except Italy
Spain's IBEX 35 performs worst, falling for 5th straight session

ANKARA (AA) - European stock exchanges closed lower Tuesday, except for Italy, amid more aggressive monetary policies, recession fears and the ongoing energy crisis.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.82 points, or 0.42%, to finish at 431.36.
The FTSE in London lost 45.68 points, or 0.61%, to end at 7,488.
Germany's DAX 30 fell 36.3 points, or 0.27%, to 14,575.
France's CAC 40 added 46 points, or 0.72%, to 6,362.
But Italy's FTSE MIB rose 214.4 points, or 0.97%, to end at 22,380.
Spain's IBEX 35 performed the worst, falling for the fifth session in row. The index lost 58.5 points, or 0.71%, to close at 8,226.
