European stock markets close Monday mixed

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed mixed on Monday, with three indices ending the day in positive territory and two finishing the session with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 0.37 points, or 0.09%, to close flat at 407.87.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was closed for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

France’s CAC 40 lost almost 13 points, or 0.2%, to 6,064.

Germany’s DAX 30, on the other hand, rose 41 points, or 0.33%, to 12,782.

Italy’s FTSE MIB added 12 points, or 0.06%, to 22,123. Spain’s IBEX 35 increased 6.5 points, or 0.08%, to 7,991 at the closing bell.

Production in the construction sector increased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.2% in the EU during July, compared to the month before, according to first estimates from Eurostat announced on Monday.

On annual basis, production in construction increased by 1.5% in the euro area and by 1.3% in the EU in July, compared to the same month of last year.
