European stock markets close Tuesday lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Tuesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down 2.17 points, or 0.56%, to end the second trading day of the week at 387.95.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was the worst performer of the day by plummeting 74 points, or 1.06%, to finish the session at 6,885.

Germany's DAX 30 decreased 52 points, or 0.43%, to end the day at 12,220. France’s CAC 40 lost 7.35 points, or 0.13%, to 5,833.

Italy’s FTSE MIB shed 182 points, or 0.87%, to 20,730. Spain’s IBEX 35 declined 57 points, or 0.78%, to close at 7,355.
