European stock markets close Wednesday lower

ANKARA (AA) - European stock markets closed lower on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was down by 4.23 points, or 1.01%, to finish the day at 412.81.

The UK’s FTSE 100 decreased 53 points, or 0.74%, to close at 7,156. France’s CAC 40 fell almost 44 points, or 0.73%, to 6,000.

Germany’s DAX 30 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 149 points, or 1.16%, to 12,756.

Italy’s FTSE MIB fell 199 points, or 0.93%, to end the day at 21,286.

Spain’s IBEX 35 declined almost 70 points, or 0.87%, to finish at 7,944.
