European stocks close higher except for Italy

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock markets closed with gains on Tuesday except for Italy's exchange.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 0.55 point, or 0.13%, to 428.00.

Germany's DAX 30 added 54 points, or 0.39%, to end the session at 13,995.

France's CAC 40 rose 45 points, or 0.7%, to finish at 6,550. Spain's IBEX 35 increased only 1 point, or 0.01%, to close at 8,270.

Italy's FTSE MIB, on the other hand, fell 21 points, or 0.09%, to 23,855.

The UK's FTSE 100 was closed on Tuesday.
