European stocks close higher except France, Spain

Italy's FTSE MIB performs best with gain of 0.27%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed with gains on Friday except for the French and Spanish exchanges.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 0.19 points, or 0.04%, at 427.45.

The UK's FTSE 100 rose 3.73 points, or 0.05%, to close at 7,473. Germany's DAX 30 added almost 27 points, or 0.19%, to end the session at 13,940.

Italy's FTSE MIB climbed more than 64 points, or 0.27%, to 23,877. It was the best performer of the day.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, fell 13 points, or 0.2%, to finish the last trading day of the week at 6,504.

Spain's IBEX 35 lost 3 points, or 0.04%, to close at 8,269.
