European stocks close lower except for Germany

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed lower Wednesday except for Germany's exchange.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.55 points, or 0.33%, to finish at 462.22.

The UK's FTSE 100 decreased 47 points, or 0.59%, to end the session at 7,930. France's CAC 40, meanwhile, lost 9 points, or 0.13%, to reach 7,299.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 307 points, or 1.12%, to 27,101.

Spain's IBEX 35 also lost 79 points, or 0.86%, to end the day at 9,172.

Germany's DAX 30, on the other hand, rose 2.27 points, or 0.01%, to close at 15,399.
