European stocks close mixed on Wednesday

Germany's DAX 30, France's CAC 40 post losses; UK's FTSE 100, Spain's IBEX 35 finish with gains

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed mixed on Wednesday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 0.75 points, or 0.16%, to finish at 456.59.

Germany's DAX 30 lost 83 points, or 0.53%, to end the session at 15,520. France's CAC 40, meanwhile, trimmed 28 points, or 0.39%, to 7,316.

Italy's FTSE MIB plummeted 159 points, or 0.59%, to close at 26,867.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, gained 28 points, or 0.37%, to finish the day at 7,662.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 71 points, or 0.78%, to 9,254.
