Eurozone inflation reads at 15-month low in May
Consumer prices rise 6.1% year-on-year in May, easing from 7% hike in April

ANKARA (AA) – The euro area annual consumer inflation rate came in at a 15-month low of 6.1% in May, according to flash estimates released on Friday.
The figure eased from 7% in April as energy prices fell on an annual basis in May.
Energy prices dropped 1.8% year-on-year in May, up from the initial estimate of a 1.7% decrease after a hike of 2.3% in April, Eurostat data showed.
Food, alcohol and tobacco prices are expected to rise 12.5% from the prior year in May, slowing from 13.5% in April.
On a monthly basis, the euro area consumer price index showed no change in May, with monthly inflation standing at 0%.
Energy prices in the single currency area fell 2.1% month-on-month in May.
