Eurozone’s inflation rate eases in June

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Eurozone annual inflation rate was at 5.5% in June, easing from 6.1% in May, according to official provisional figures released on Friday.

The 27-member bloc’s statistical department Eurostat states that food, alcohol, and tobacco had the highest annual rate in June (11.7%, compared to 12.5% in May).

Non-energy industrial goods (5.5%, compared to 5.8% in May), services (5.4%, compared to 5.0% in May), and energy (-5.6%, compared to -1.8% in May) followed.

Among Eurozone countries, the highest rate was seen in Slovakia at 11.3%, followed by Estonia at 9%, and Croatia at 8.3%.
