Germany's industrial production up 1.3% in July

ISTANBUL (AA) - Germany's industrial production increased 1.3% month-on-month in July, the federal statistical office Destatis said on Monday.

The increase in production stemmed mainly from a 9.5% increase in the manufacture of machinery and equipment.

A rise in production observed in the automotive (2.3%) and pharmaceutical (8.4%) industries also had a positive impact on the overall figure.

By contrast, a decrease in energy production (minus 4.5%) caused a negative impact.

Meanwhile, industrial production increased 1.5% year-on-year in July.
