House sales in Türkiye soar 107.5% year-on-year in May
More than 122,768 houses sold last month with Istanbul taking lion’s share, according to official data

ANKARA (AA) - Residential property sales in Türkiye surged 107.5% year-on-year in May, according to the latest data released on Wednesday.
A total of 122,768 houses were sold last month, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said.
Istanbul, Türkiye’s largest city in terms of population, had the lion’s share with 22,148 units, marking a 18% increase.
It was followed by Ankara with 11,497 house sales and Izmir with 7,159 sales.
Sales to foreign buyers jumped by 235.7% to 5,962 units last month.
Among foreign nationals, Russians bought the most houses, 1,275, followed by Iranians with 736 purchases and Iraqis 617.
Meanwhile, on a monthly basis, house sales went down 7.73 % in May.
