ISTANBUL (AA) – An Israeli drone strike hit the town of Taybeh in southern Lebanon on Saturday, in a new violation of a fragile ceasefire agreement in place since November 2024, Lebanese media reported.
The state news agency NNA did not provide details about injuries in the attack.
The outlet also said that an Israeli drone flew at very low altitude over the capital Beirut, including its southern suburbs. Similar drone overflights were reported over several villages in the Zahrani area in the south, and in Hermel district in northeastern Lebanon.
Israel and Lebanon reached the ceasefire after more than a year of cross-border attacks amid the war in Gaza. More than 4,000 people were killed, and 17,000 were injured.
Under the ceasefire, Israeli forces were supposed to withdraw from southern Lebanon in January but have only partially pulled out, maintaining a military presence at five border outposts.
