Italy's annual inflation rate rises to 8.4% in August

ANKARA (AA) – Italy’s annual consumer inflation rose to 8.4% in August, according to a final reading released on Friday.

The figure confirmed the flash estimate, the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) said.

The August inflation rate was up from 7.9% in July

On a monthly basis, Italy's consumer price index rose 0.8% in August.

Core inflation, excluding energy and food, was at 4.4% in August, up from 4.1% in July.
