Japanese economy expands by 2.8% in Q4 2024
Figure came above the market estimates of 1.32%

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Japanese economy has expanded by 2.8% in the fourth quarter of 2024 on a yearly basis, marking the third consecutive expansion.
The figure came above the market estimates of 1.32%, according to the Tokyo-based Kyodo news agency on Monday.
Nominal Japanese GDP, which shows the size of the economy in current prices, surpassed 600 trillion yen (about $3.95 trillion) for the first time, it said.
On a quarterly basis, the country's economy increased by 0.7%, against the 0.33 percent rise projected by economists.
