Palestinian killed, 5 injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza: Ministry

Cease-fire takes effect as of Wednesday, says Palestinian source

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – One Palestinian was killed and five others were injured as Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

The Palestinian killed was identified as 58-year-old Hashel Mubarak, according to a ministry statement.

A Palestinian source in the Gaza Strip told Anadolu that a cease-fire between Palestinian factions and Israel has taken effect as of Wednesday.

Palestinian groups in Gaza and Israel exchanged fire on Tuesday shortly after the death of Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan in an Israeli prison after 86 days of a hunger strike.
