Spanish economy expands 6.8% in Q2

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Spanish economy expanded 6.8% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, official figures showed on Friday.

The economy has also enlarged by 1.5% on a quarterly basis, Spain’s statistical office said.

The contribution of national demand to year-on-year GDP growth was 1.9 points, and external demand was 4.9 points, it said.

The office recalled that the pandemic has been affecting the country's economy since the first quarter of 2020, and said that Russia’s war on Ukraine has also affected energy markets, international trade, and price trends.
