Trooper among multiple victims in Kentucky shooting, suspect killed: Police

ISTANBUL (AA) - A suspect who shot a Kentucky state trooper was killed Sunday after fleeing to a Baptist church where multiple victims were reported, police said.

"The suspect shot a trooper and then fled the scene, ending up at the Richmond Road Baptist Church," Kentucky State Police said on X.

The incident occurred at 11:36 am (1536GMT) in Fayette County, with Kentucky State Police and Lexington Police securing the suspect at the church location.

"There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS (Emergency Medical Services) is on scene," police confirmed.

The suspect is deceased, while the wounded trooper is receiving medical attention, according to the police.
