Turkish catastrophe fund pays $238M to quake victims so far
Damaged building notificants reach over 392,000, insurance pool says

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP) paid 4.52 billion Turkish liras ($237.7 million) in claim payments so far for victims related to twin earthquakes last month.
On Feb. 6, magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 quakes struck 11 provinces — Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Hatay, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaras, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Sanliurfa.
More than 13.5 million people in Türkiye have been affected by the devastating quakes.
The TCIP continues to work with all its strength to support the healing processes, it stated.
It noted that the damaged building notifications reached 392,045 as of Monday.
