ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish modular construction firm Karmod has begun installing a prefabricated worker camp in Tunisia’s central Gafsa region, the company said on Wednesday.

Planned to support operations at a local phosphate mine, the camp will accommodate up to 450 workers. The project consists of nine prefabricated buildings with a combined area of 2,560 square meters 27,555 (square feet) and is expected to be completed within 30 days.

Karmod General Manager Ugur Kadir said the company’s ergonomic and durable structures are widely used in demanding work environments, including energy, mining, road construction, and airport development projects.

“Our mobilization solutions include all essential site buildings such as offices, dormitories, dining halls, guesthouses, laboratories, infirmaries, and sanitation units,” Kadir said.

For the Gafsa project, Karmod is supplying five 259-square-meter dormitory blocks, two 249-square-meter office buildings, one 518-square-meter dining facility, and a 249-square-meter WC and shower unit. The installation is carried out by the company’s on-site supervisors.
