Turkish, Russian leaders to discuss Libya

Two leaders in contact to discuss Syria, Libya, says Kremlin spokesperson

MOSCOW (AA) - Turkish and Russian leaders will discuss Libya in near future, the spokesperson for Kremlin said on Tuesday.

Turkey and Russia are in contact on Syrian issue said Dmitriy Peskov to reporters in the Russian capital.

“Of course, future phone and face-to-face talks will certainly address the Libyan issue. The issue of Libya needs to be discussed,” said Peskov.

Peskov also said the Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Istanbul on Jan. 8 and will inaugurate the TurkStream project with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“This will be a good opportunity to discuss all current issues. Any other visit or contact is not scheduled for now but the schedule may change quickly,” he added.

The TurkStream natural gas pipeline has a total capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters, out of which the first line will carry a capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to Turkish consumers. The second line will carry another 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe via Turkey.
