Turkish stock exchange down 0.21% at close

BIST 100 index drops 10.56 points, ending 4-session streak of gains

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index fell 0.21% to end Thursday at 5,135.55 points, ending a four-session streak of gains.

After starting the day at 5,164.86 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 10.56 points compared to the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 5,131.93, while its daily high was 5,195.50.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4.3 trillion Turkish liras ($220.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 60 billion Turkish liras ($3.11 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,056.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $86.77 per barrel as of 6.41 p.m. local time (1541GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 19.3457 and the euro/lira exchange rate at 21.3867, while the British pound was at 24.2253 Turkish liras.
