Turkish stock exchange down at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the midweek at 9,310.65 points, down 0.31% or 28.94 points from the previous close.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 fell 0.11% to 9,339.59 points, with a daily transaction volume of 82.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.1 billion).

As of 11.10 am local time (0810GMT), exchange rates stood at 39.5390 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 45.5120 to the euro, and 53.2270 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $3,386.75, while Brent crude oil was trading at $74.85 per barrel.
