Turkish stock exchange rallies at Monday’s close

BIST 100 index earns 167.7 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index rallied at Monday's close, rising 3.40% to 5,092.31 points.

Starting the week at 4.956,02 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 167.67 points compared to Friday's close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,956.02, while its daily high was 5,102.42.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.22 trillion Turkish liras ($219.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 55 billion liras ($2.86 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.2748 as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.8997, while a British pound traded for 23.8420 Turkish liras.
