Turkish stock exchange up 0.24% at close

BIST 100 index earns around 11.8 points

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the week at 4,924.64 points on Friday, up 0.24% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 4,921.33 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 11.83 points compared to the previous close of 4,912.81.

The index's lowest value during the last transaction day was 4,899.46, while its daily high was 4,955.45.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.09 trillion Turkish liras ($212.7 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 39.22 billion Turkish liras ($2.05 billion).

During the day, 61 stocks on the index rose and 37 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,023.90, while Brent crude oil sold for around $84.94 per barrel as of 6.20 p.m. local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.2500, the euro/lira exchange rate 20.9990, while the British pound traded at 23.9040 Turkish liras.
