Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 9,147.51 points, up by 0.17% or 15.68 points versus the previous close.

At the previous close, the BIST 100 index fell by 0.26% to 9,131.82 points with a daily transaction volume of 107 billion Turkish liras ($3.34 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.0450 as of 10.15 a.m. (0715GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.0980, while the GBP/TRY rate was 41.0380.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,182.15, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $82.55.
