Turkish stock exchange up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 10,772.35 points, increasing by 0.42% or 44.77 points from the previous close.

On Thursday, the BIST 100 was up by 1.39% to 10,727.58 points, with a daily transaction volume of 132.8 billion Turkish liras ($3.62 billion).

As of 10.15 am local time (0715GMT), exchange rates stood at 36.6850 liras to the US dollar, 39.8205 to the euro, and 47.4435 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,983.95, while Brent crude oil was trading at $70.30 per barrel.
