Turkish stock market closes Tuesday with gains
BIST 100 index rises over 24 points

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed on Tuesday with gains, up 0.99% to 2,490.17 points.
Starting the day at 2,483.08 points, the BIST 100 index gained 24.46 points from Monday's close of 2,465.71 points.
Closing the day with a market value of around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($133 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 39 billion Turkish liras ($2.58 billion).
Shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, iron/steel company Kardemir, and glass maker Sise posted the highest trading volumes on Tuesday.
Eczacibasi was the best performer with its shares up 9.86%, while shares of commercial vehicle manufacturer Karsan Automobile dropped the most, 6.23%.
An ounce of gold traded for $1,891.00 by market close, up from $1,860.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil jumped to $103.62 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT), down 2% from the previous close.
