Turkish stock market on high note at Tuesday's close

BIST 100 index jumps over 2% from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul jumped 2.07% to end on Tuesday at 2,501.96 points.

After starting the day at 2,449.40 points, BIST 100 index gained 50.69 points from the previous close of 2,451.27 points.

The index’s lowest value was 2,448.03 points, while its daily high was 2,501.96 points. During the day, 85 stocks on the index rose, 14 fell, and one remained unchanged compared to the previous close.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($114.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 31.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

One ounce of gold traded for $1,712.00 by market close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

Brent crude oil sold at around $105.8 per barrel as of 6.00 p.m. local time (1500GMT).
