Turkish stocks down 3.46% at midweek close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended the midweek at 4,827.04 points, down 3.46% from the previous close.

Starting Wednesday at 5.001,97 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 173.1 points from the previous close of 5,000.14 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,773.38, while its daily high was 5,014.57.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.85 trillion Turkish liras ($207.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 110 billion Turkish liras ($5.89 billion).

During the day, nine stocks on the index rose and 90 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,792.35, while Brent crude oil was around $79.05 per barrel as of 6.39 p.m. local time (1539 GMT).
