Turkish stocks down at Friday's open

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Friday at 4,876.23 points, down by 0.41%, or 19.84 points, from the previous close.​​​​​​​

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 4,896.07 points, falling 0.95%, with a daily trading volume of 52 billion Turkish liras ($2.69 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.1822 as of 09.54 a.m. local time (0654GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.9106, while a British pound traded for 23.7659 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.53 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,999.80.
