Turkish stocks lower at Thursday close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Thursday at 5,231.02 points, down 1.26%.

After starting the day at 5,291.91 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 66.75 points, from Wednesday's close of 5,297.77.

The index's lowest value during the day was 5,200.51, while its daily high was 5,315.90.

The daily trading volume was 90 billion Turkish liras ($4.8 billion); 30 stocks on the index posted gains, 65 were down and five were flat during the day.

The price of gold was at $1,926.55 per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at $87.44 per barrel at 6.38 p.m. local time (15.38GMT).
