Turkish stocks start midweek looking up
Benchmark index earns some 13 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 4,997.01 points, up by 0.26%, or 12.9 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 4,984.11 points, jumping 2.99%, with a daily trading volume of 51 billion Turkish liras ($2.66 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.2480 as of 10.13 a.m. local time (0713GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 21.0980, while a British pound traded for 24.0790 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $85.45 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,042.45.
