Turkish Treasury sees $2.8B cash deficit in March
Treasury's cash revenues reach $12.8B, while expenditures hit $15.6B last month

ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish Treasury's cash balance registered a 40.6 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion) deficit in March, after posting a surplus a month ago, according to official data released on Thursday.
Cash revenues of the Treasury amounted to 187.4 billion Turkish liras ($12.8 billion) last month, indicating a 21% year-on-year rise, the Treasury and Finance Ministry said.
Including interest payments of 23.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion), its expenditures doubled from the same month of last year to hit some 228 billion Turkish liras ($15.6 billion) in March.
The Treasury's non-interest expenditures amounted to 204.4 billion Turkish liras ($14 billion).
The Treasury in March did not receive any privatization or fund income.
The average US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 14.60 last month.
