Türkiye's BIST 100 closes day with gains

Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,842.15 points, surging 1.26% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 122.34 points with a daily transaction volume of 94 billion liras ($2.61 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,860.69 while Brent crude oil sold for around $74.47 per barrel as of 6.06 p.m. local time (1506GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 35.8915, the euro/lira exchange rate 37.3170, and the British pound traded at 44.5282 liras.
