Türkiye's BIST 100 closes Thursday with strong gains

Benchmark index hikes 183.22 points, ending its two-session winning streak on Thursday

Türkiye's benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 9,129.02 points, surging 2.05% from the previous close.

Ending its two-session winning streak on Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 gained 183.22 points from Wednesday's close of 8,945.80 points.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 7.8 trillion liras ($245.8 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 53 billion liras ($1.65 billion).

The price of an ounce of gold was $2,312.85 while Brent crude oil sold for around $89.22 per barrel as of 6.18 p.m. local time (1518GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 31.8678, the euro/lira exchange rate was at 34.7297, and the British pound traded at 40.3608 liras.
